ECOGLASS lenses in Prague metro signal lights

Did you know, that you can find our glass optics in signal lights in the Prague metro? This project is a nice example of the complexity of our services.

LEDs caused a huge revolution among light sources in various applications. They support proper optical function with much lower energy demand compared to old-fashioned bulbs.

Renovation of signal lights in Prague metro included also the replacement of light bulb with LED source. This change caused a need to modify optical design of the original lens in order to keep optical function.

We managed to design the lens according to the optical requirements. We also added mounting and positioning elements to secure proper assembly. The lens design was optimized with respect to the manufacturing process of molding. This enabled efficient production at reasonable price.

In the first step samples were manufactured and tested at our partner. The results were in a good agreement with original enquiry so production of serial volume was released.

We are very pleased to have worked on this project with another Czech company, Starmon, which supplies interlocking and carried out the replacement of signals in the Prague metro.
